Investment in staff training and an unrivalled working relationship with clients has netted Gorvins Solicitors Law Firm of the Year at the City of Manchester Business Awards.
The Stockport-based practice landed the prestigious title, thanks, to the firm’s focus on ensuring every member of its firm from new associate to experienced partner has an opportunity to continually develop their knowledge and skills.
Decided through a combination of voting and judging, Mark Deverell, Senior Partner at Gorvins Solicitors said, “We are so thrilled to win this award and believe it is a true testament to our position and reputation in the North West legal market.
“Gorvins Solicitors has developed an exceptional legal team, offering exceptional advice and experience in a whole host of legal matters as well as in niche areas such as maternity discrimination. All of which is reflected in a healthy increase in turnover.”
He added, “Being named Law Firm of the Year is a reflection of the fantastic progress we have made in so many aspects of our business. This important win follows our strategic aim of becoming one of the leading law firms in the North West, famous for delivering specialist legal services.”
As a result Gorvins have, for example, developed exciting new client service areas including the creation of a dedicated family business team aimed at helping family run firms gain access to the legal support they need.
The firm’s soaring reputation has also garnered unprecedented coverage in both print and broadcast Media, with Gorvins’ lawyers constantly called upon by newspapers, radio and television to provide expert comment.
For example Danielle Ayres has become the ‘go to’ lawyer for pregnancy and maternity discrimination and she has now been asked to contribute to both Parliamentary groups and the Equality & Human Rights Commission thanks to her expertise in this area.
Meanwhile fellow lawyer Danielle Clements has carved out an unparalleled name in the world of property litigation: her creation of a ground-breaking ‘neighbours’ charter’ was widely covered across the media.
Further still, the firm’s highly successful Act On It project has helped people understand the importance of making a will; an initiative which was validated further last year by a commendation from the top London awards.
“This award means so much since it reflects our commitment to delivering the very best in legal services for our clients and recognises the talent and dedication of all who work here.
The next 12 months for Gorvins are very much about growth of the firm. We will continue to offer our core services to clients as well as continuing to develop matchless specialist expertise. Our plan is to continue attracting and cultivating the best legal talent so we can continue to deliver the very best to our clients.”
The City of Manchester Business Awards recognise the achievements of businesses across a wide range of sectors operating in and around Manchester.
