Stockport’s William Turner Acquired By Banner

Greater Manchester-based solicitor, Gorvins LLP, has led the acquisition of Stockport-based, family business, William Turner, by the UK’s leading uniform and sportswear specialist, Banner.

William Turner, with its head office in Stockport and factories in Skipton and Nelson, was established in 1969 and specialises in supplying school ties and schoolwear accessories. 

The third-generation family business, which has the widest range of stock ties in the UK, will continue to operate as a trading division of Banner as the company approaches its busiest trading period in the run-up to the new school year in September.

William Turner Managing Director, Daniel Turner said: “My grandfather, father, brother and I, along with our outstanding team, have sought to build a business based on service, quality and trust for more than 50 years.  Joining forces with Banner is a significant milestone in the William Turner journey and will further strengthen our customer offering and service.”

Gorvins LLP acted as solicitors for the acquisition deal.  The Gorvins team, led by Corporate Commercial Partner, Christian Mancier, included Senior Associate, Rowan Uren and Trainee Solicitor, Chloe Murphy in the commercial team, Commercial Property Partner, Amanda Porter and Partner and Head of Employment, David Rogers.
