Gemma is a Senior Associate in the Corporate - Commercial department. She joined Gorvins in 2006 and has a great deal of experience advising SME clients on a range of corporate and commercial matters. Over this time , she has continued to develop her experience on corporate acquisitions and disposals and often plays a key role in some of the highest value transactions undertaken by the team.
Gemma has developed her specialism by advising family business owners and shareholders. Taking the time to get to know and understand her clients and their business and developing close working relationships with clients and colleagues alike is part of the job she loves the most. Her other expertise includes shareholders agreements, company restructuring, terms and conditions of business and negotiating commercial contracts (distribution and supply).
Gemma acted for us in connection with the sale of our business. The whole process became rather protracted due to delays by the buyer which created frustration and added complications. Throughout however I was very impressed with her dedication to move the deal on and overcome problems when they arose. There were times when I lost patience with the buyers but Gemma was very good at communicating with us and putting things in perspective to keep the deal on track. Gemma clearly knows her job and was very good at interacting with us. She was always happy to act even when she was not in the office herself and I would be very happy for Gemma to act for me in the future. Ian M, Stockport
We recently completed a long and stressful sale of our business. Well it could have been stressful- but with Gorvins ( and in particular Gemma Lingard) we slid through it with ease. That included the buyer changing Solicitor so Gemma had to almost go through the whole process again!
The whole process was professional, with Gemma at the end of the phone, or on an email within minutes of any transaction from the other Solicitors, or myself.
When you have experienced knowledgeable people dealing with your case, and you are treated as if you are the only client who matters, you know you have found a great company.
I have used Gorvins for many years, for commercial, residential and family matters, but never for Commercial sale. Gorvins acted on the purchase of the business sold 30 years ago. Longevity and stability are very undervalued these days, but are important.
Would I recommend them. Yes 100%
