Rowan Uren, a trainee solicitor at leading Stockport law firm Gorvins, has received this year’s inaugural Johnston Baker Ellis Award at the Stockport Law Society’s annual dinner.
Rowan, 27, from Rochdale, joined Gorvins as a paralegal in November 2010, before moving to a training contract in June last year and is due to qualify and become Associate Solicitor on 16th December. Rowan has supported the Personal Injury, Commercial Property and Corporate Commercial teams during his training and now sits firmly within the Corporate Commercial department.
The Johnston Baker Ellis Award is a long-standing prize given to a trainee or newly- qualified solicitor in the Stockport area who has exceeded expectations during their training contract.
Gorvins nominated Rowan for the award because of his passion for law, his exceptional hard work and dedication to the firm.

“In his spare time Rowan is a keen supporter of charity work. Recent achievements include running ten 10k runs in 20 days to raise funds for MedEquip4Kids. We are proud to have Rowan in our team and its been a pleasure to watch him develop.”
