Melloney is experienced in advising and representing employers and employees on a wide range of employment issues. She provides practical and commercial legal advice across the broad spectrum of matters that affect the workplace from recruitment planning, to exit strategies, to post termination restrictions.
Melloney is an advocate in the Employment Tribunals acting for employers and employees. She regularly deals with Employment Tribunal claims from issuing of proceedings through to hearing and undertakes settlement negotiation where appropriate. Melloney has successfully represented clients in Tribunal claims relating to unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, sex and maternity related discrimination, employment status and redundancy.
Key features of Melloney’s work experience include:
- reviewing, drafting and advising on the application of company handbooks, policies and internal procedures;
- reviewing, drafting and advising on contracts of employment including post termination restrictions and confidentiality provisions;
- advising on contract variation exercises;
- advising on disciplinary and grievance issues;
- providing employment advice support in corporate transactions involving business and share acquisitions and disposals and the application of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations) 2006;
- providing advice on large and small scale redundancies;
- advising on termination strategies including entering into compromise agreements;
- presenting training seminars to clients including providing bespoke training specific to clients’ business needs.
