Carly qualified as a solicitor in March 2009 and works for the
Dispute Resolution team, where she advises commercial clients.
She conducts court proceedings in relation to contractual,
partnership/trust disputes and professional negligence, often
resolving cases at an early stage on highly favourable terms to her
clients.
Carly has developed particular expertise in insolvency and asset
finance litigation, acting on behalf of finance houses, insolvency
practitioners and trustees in bankruptcy. Carly's recent work
includes:
- Advising a private client on court proceedings over
contested Lottery winnings and settling on favourable
terms.
- Conducting proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court
on behalf of a liquidator to recover sums due under a final
invoice
- Obtaining declaratory relief on behalf of a trustee in
bankruptcy in relation to the bankrupt's property, and realising
the trustee's interest
- Advising a former director in relation to a potential claim for
damages being pursued by their former business broker in relation
to the disposition of a company. The dispute was settled on
favourable terms before court proceedings were issued
